Void : Absence of What?

The definition of "void" (confusion) is pretty exciting. It stems from the absence of something (clarity). Often, when you find a void, you are able to figure out what is missing. Have you ever come across a scenario where you just feel a void and are not able to figure out what is it that you are missing? It is a reasonable approach to ask WHY. In this post, I will try to answer everything in a Q&A format where I shall analyze this "void" philosophically. Why do we feel a void? Something is absent, the essence is you won't stumble upon a "void" unless you are expecting something. To rephrase, it is one's expectation that leads to the discovery of a "void". Why is it not obvious what is absent? This question won't be valid if you can figure out what is absent. It takes a deeper line of introspection to figure out what is it that one is missing so badly, that they encounter a "void". Well, it leads me to fig

Mother [POEM]

As the little girl grows fast , And the years go past , She brooded over the moments left behind by you…. Mother !! Lots of dilemmas , Pots of confusions , She want all of them to be straightened up by you….Mother !! As the intensity of life touches it’s height , Alone she fumbles & crosses all the hurdles out , She lamented for hours on searching for your love….Mother !! Whenever she feels blue, whenever she falls sick , Whenever she gets moisty eyes , She urges your presence….Mother !! She screams , she cries , she breaks, But again she holds it back , Only by reminiscing you….Mother !! Sometimes she wonders , If she could take you over , Before she realises the uncertainity….Mother!! She missed you , she misses you now , And further she will miss you more , As no substitute can stand over you…Mother !!                             - Shraddha Priyadarshini

The Gap

I've often wondered how physics relates to engineering. Well people may take me for a fool but I believe that in spite of the obvious links between them, they are in some measures, disjoint. Well, no use bickering. Let me start from the very beginning. When I was an overenthusiastic (and I don't mean it in the good sense) student in high school, I was always fascinated by physics. I used to dream physics, drink physics, eat physics and even sleep with physics(not in the way you think).        Then came a dark phase in my life which is no stranger to an Indian student: 11th and 12th standards. Well, I had opted for science and I really loved it. There was absolutely no doubt there. However, owing to popular media, I was gripped by what I refer to as the 'Engineer Fever'. This fever was so intense that it made me forget my love for physics and only concentrate on scoring high on the JEE scale.  Well fortunately, I did a moderate take. While I was all se

Sink to Rise [POEM]

Image
via Commaful The anchor of anxiety weighs me down, Under its Herculean pressure, I drown, Looking back at the mistakes I frown; For stupidity, if there was a crown, On my head, it would aptly lay down. Ship of my aspirations will sink, Nothing will stay but this ink, All will be over in a blink, Can't care about what others think, When my ship is filled to the brink. In my own ship, I have dug a hole, I am the reason for my misery sole, Eternal damnation, into which I fall, From all perils and snare, I appall, The error is mine as far as I recall. This fall is not the eternal end, Its a cue to introspect, I apprehend, With the norms of society, I blend, In solitude and symphony my life I mend, Your support is all I need, my friend. Like a Phoenix, from my ashes, I will rise, Not everything that sinks dies, Hope is easily found in those eyes, Whose beholder has a mind so wise, Hopes so high, it extends beyond skies.

Eternal Death [POEM]

via Commaful Loneliness is forever present in our life. Happiness comes but seldom in life and leaves as quick as it had appeared. Grieve as you must, loneliness is our true companion. And it'll forever be in our lives.

No Need to Hide [POEM]

via Commaful Why do we assume certain things regarding certain people? Life is too short to misjudge anyone or anything. The cost of a small error can cause collapse of great proportions. Butterfly effect is for real! -Inspired by Alan Walker's "Tired"

Epilogue of Endings [POEM]

via Commaful Darkest of hours I withstood, Purest of friendships I experienced, You my friend, here once stood, Countless barriers, together we conquered! Longest of Lectures, seen together, Shortest of relationships, deemed to fail, I would continue college raher, Your absence ahead, is something I will wail! I wish there was a way to know, If we are in those “good old days”, Old, I don’t want to grow, Robbing us of time, whom do I allege? Will our paths ever intersect? Will you help me if I was utterly waif? Our bond will resurrect; No, nobody but me can keep it safe! As it ends, do not be sad, For it happened, be happy and glad! In those memories, be clad, To a perfect ending, and a new beginning so rad! P.S.: Dedicated to all my batchmates, who have been a tremendous influence on me during my college life. Wishing you the best for the times ahead!

Magnificient Mystique of Munnar

Image
A ‘Midsummer Night’s Dream’ - Sam Memories and Nostalgia: that’s what life is reduced to, people often say. If so, we lived life to the limit during the last weekend on our last batch trip. The destination was Munnar, along with a short detour to Thekkady and two days couldn’t have been spent in a better way. The trip commenced from our bus journey on Friday night. All the exhaustion of the week was forgotten in a flash as bags were packed swifter than one could say ‘Hallelujah’. This was followed by a wild and crazy night where we showed off our best and weirdest dance moves while attempting to emulate the ones which were exhibited during the likes of ‘Lamberghini’, ‘Breakup Song’, among others. It got so crazy at some point that I twisted my arm, sat down for a minute during which it miraculously ‘untwisted’ and then started dancing again. While many of us showed off our moves, a few of us chose to witness the scenario from afar and captured so many of our precious m

The Inevitable Enemy

Have you ever incurred an injury, which was painful and left a bad scar? Well, that was a physical injury which could be seen, treated and more importantly, healed. Mental injuries, unlike physical injuries, go unobserved by the rest of the prying world around you, which allows all of us to show our mental side as the superior one. It is very similar to a cat thickening its tail and holding it straight up to pose as a bigger creature to fend off the threat. There is an inherent disadvantage of being concealed: even people who are close to you do not know about them, and if you do not know where a person is hurt, you may end up worsening their woe more and not even know about it. The misery of these wounds doesn't end up with these. Your temporal lobe controls your physical actions; however, your sub-conscious has more control over your mental processes. If you had a broken leg, your temporal can act on it by never allowing the load to be applied on that leg which allows recov

Faith In The Unfaithful

The Oxford Dictionary defines ‘Infidelity’ as the action or state of being unfaithful to a spouse or the other sexual partner or disbelief in a particular religion, especially Christianity. This definition has forced me to take a different outlook on life. It has compelled me to question the meaning of faith. The Supreme Court of India ruled last year that adultery is no longer a crime. This was rightfully hailed as one of the best judgements of the Judiciary. However, this again got me thinking: what initiates infidelity? Is it really someone’s fault? To make matters more interesting, let us imagine a scenario. Let us imagine a middle aged couple. The husband is a workaholic. The wife is devoted towards her household. The lack of communication and chemistry between them is unbearable. The only time they interact in the twenty four hours are when they are at dinner and that too with a minor ‘Would you please pass me the salt, dear?’ They make love once a week, on Sundays but the love

Corrupt Chain of Communication

Image
We are stronger when we listen, and smarter when we share. - Rania Al Abdullah (1970) Communication is key to the survival of humans. I believe it is one of the key reasons we are the Apex Predators on this planet. The invention of language gives us the greatest advantage over other lifeforms. In this article, I will discuss the inherent errors in communication which leads to distortion of transmitted information in the process of communicating. Our ultimate aim is to put our views or information in front of another person, such that he or she is able to interpret the information what you had originally decided to communicate. I shall present to you this communication model which I theorized recently: Assumption: Communication composes of 2 essential parts namely Words, Action.   Communicated Information is like a wave! This is essential in understanding the part where I introduce error. However, for now, the parallel Electromagnetic wave as shown in picture can

Personal Space : The Enigma of modern relationships

Image
Out of the many virtues we learn in life, one of prime importance is dealing with the personal space of people around you. It is important to know as well as respect the personal space of your peers. Sometimes, we fail to estimate the personal space of a person which leads to a catastrophic collapse of understanding between the two individuals. Enough prologue, let's understand the concept of personal space technically. First, let us define every person as an entity, and each entity has its own priority sequence for various material aspects in life, like food might be on top of someone's priority, for someone else sleep might be on top of priority list.  An entity in center with different priorities at random length around it Imagine the black circle as a person and the different colored ring represents different priorities. For every person, the colors of the consecutive circles will form different sequences, as well as the distance between the circles, vary

Tesseract : The complete Travel Tantrum

Image
What is the Tesseract, and how is it connect to the Space Stone? If you’re dizzy from Thanos flexing those Reality and Time Stone muscles in Infinity War , you may forget exactly where the hunt for the gems really began. In the MCU, the Tesseract is a container for the Space Stone, one of six Infinity Stones that serve as the all-powerful MacGuffins of the MCU. Each of the Stones embodies some aspect of the universe and their respective capabilities reflect that. In practice, the Space Stone / Tesseract has been used to create portals for traveling across the universe, but just as frequently, it’s a magical blue box that’s used to create weapons, spacecraft engines, and in the case of Captain Marvel, a superhero. At some point in the history of the MCU, Asgard king Odin (also Thor’s father) gains possession of the Tesseract. Sometime after that, Odin hides the Tesseract on Earth — specifically in Norway. The Tesseract debuts in Captain America: The First Avenger T
